Houston has no zoning code, and its strength gyms turn up wherever the right building is: a warehouse off Jensen Drive near Downtown, a site on the South Freeway, another warehouse in the southeast and a stretch of North Main by the Heights. All four of these let members train around the clock, and three sell day passes, which matters in a city where the drive across town can take longer than the workout. We chose them for the weight on the floor, from 200 lb dumbbells to competition platforms and the specialist machine brands that serious lifters make that drive for.

Prefer to train at home?

Houston summers make the walk to the car feel like a workout of its own. A rack and dumbbells in the garage or spare room let you train before the heat builds: kit out a home gym around a set that comes with its own rack, then add plates and bars when you are ready to load a barbell. Running a facility? We also work on equipping a gym floor.
